Georgian tour operators lose to $ 500, 000 due to events in Egypt

Due to the riots in Egypt, Georgian tourist companies have had to cancel trips to Egypt and their losses constituted about $500, 000, Radio Commersant reported with reference to the Georgian Tourism Association. According to the representative of the Tour Dji Company, Mamuka Djikiya, most of the clients cancelled their reservation and they had to redirect these tourists to Turkey. That is why the company is at a big loss currently.

The Intercontinental Company also reports serious financial problems. In particular, only 10 tourists out of 140 flew to Egypt. The Foreign Affairs Ministry called Georgian citizens to refrain from traveling to Egypt.
