Georgia is one of the first states of the former Soviet Union where income and property differentiations are too high. According to the head of Georgia’s Professional Union, Irakli Petriashvili, 5% of Georgia’s whole population can be taken as rich, 14-15% as middle class, under the poverty line 15% as well and rest of the population is poor. The analysts state that recently the situation changes a bit due to decrease in tariffs. They also state that a new labor code also positively affected the problem.
