According to the statistical department of Georgia, the trade turnover in the first six months of 2013 reached over $5 billion. The figures show that export from Georgia increased by 9%, whereas import – decreased by 5%. It is most significant that in July of 2013, the trade turnover reached almost $1 billion. The head of the Parliamentary Committee for Economy, Zurab Tkemaladze, answering the question from Rezonansi newspaper about the successful economic policy of the current government, signifies the overall success of the country’s economy. It should be highlighted that even a small increase of export production is to be welcomed, although it still lags behind import.
