Margvelashvili visits the school of businessmen Vasadze
Netgazeti reports that the presidential candidate of the Georgian Dream coalition, Giorgi Margvelashvili, and businessman Levan Vasadze visited the school which is in the property of Vasadze’s wife. The two attended the events dedicated to the first day of the new academic year. The former principle of the school named after Iakob Gogebashvili, who is now the special representative of the Prime Minister in relations with Russia, Zurab Abashidze, was also there.
100% of the shares of the school, which was established in 2009, belong to Vasadze’s wife, Nino Durglishvili. Margvelashvili said that as the former member of the school council, he came to congratulate the students and teachers on the “very interesting and cognitive academic year.”
Vasadze said the school has four directions: academic education; sport and athletics; labor and life skills; and moral and spiritual development.
Calling Margvelashvili his closest friend Vasadze felt proud that Margvelashvili had been involved in development of the school's conception and management from the very beginning. “We miss him after he joined politics. We had to say goodbye to him, but we are happy that he has come here today and made everyone happy with his presence,” Vasadze stated.
Netgazeti reports that this is not the first case when the presidential candidate has participated in public meetings with Vasadze. On September 1st the presidential candidate of the coalition visited Mestia, in Svaneti with Vasadze and Patriarch Ilia II. The two friends had previously attended several meetings as well. According to Giorgi Margvelashvili, he and Vasadze are childhood friends.
