Georgian legislation to facilitate export production

The Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development is preparing a draft law submitted by the Ministry of Agriculture, which should encourage the development of export production. At the same time, the new legislation should establish certain barriers for imported products to protect local production. Georgia has a good example in this regard. Its neighbors Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan manage to protect their market; restrict import and encourage local production. These countries have succeeded in this direction despite the membership of the World Trade Organization (WTO), so the Georgian legislators should use the positive experience of their neighbors and support the local entrepreneurs.
