Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railways being constructed hastily

Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is an important strategic project that has been under construction recently. President Mikheil Saakashvili keeps repeating that the tempo of the construction has been slowed down by the new Georgian government. The latter, meanwhile, refute these allegations stating that the speed of construction during the United National Movement (UNM) government was slow and the Georgian Dream administration sped it up. Much was written about the importance of the project in terms of connecting Europe with Asia through the Caucasus. The Georgian authorities suggest that the country will benefit considerably after the railway starts functioning. (The Messenger)
