Margvelashvili will attend the Vilnius Summit as a President

Presidential candidate of the Georgian Dream coalition, Giorgi Margvelashvili, is sure he will attend the Vilnius summit as a President. He said he was not feeling embarrassed by the fact that he will have to communicate with foreign missions if he becomes the President. He said he is sure he would attend the Vilnius summit in November as the President of Georgia. “As per the constitution, the inauguration is scheduled for 17 November, while the Vilnius Summit will be held in ten days,” Margvelashvili said. EU is ready to continue Georgian Finance Ministry’s technical support program

Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri met with head of the EU technical support program for financial management monitoring Arnold Hoitink. The Georgian Finance Ministry said that the work conducted within the program was summed up at the meeting. Hoitink updated the Georgian side with the EU budget support programs. He thanked Finance Minister Khaduri for support and assistance. Khaduri thanked the European Union for the fruitful cooperation and contribution to the implementation of reforms in Georgia. Arab League’s observers will visit Georgia

Around 12 observers of the League of Arab States arrived in Tbilisi on Wednesday to monitor the presidential election to be held on October 27. According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry a preliminary group of three observers of the League of Arab States headed by Deputy Secretary-General of the League Waguih Said Hanafi, visited Georgia on September 30 - October 3.

During the visit, the delegation met with Georgian Minister of Justice, Deputy Foreign Minister and representatives of the Ministry of Interior Affairs.

The parties signed a memorandum at a meeting with the chairman of the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC). The delegation of the League of Arab States for the first time takes part in the election observation mission in Georgia. (Trend)



Saakashvili says Georgia belongs to everyone

Georgia equally belongs to everyone, President Mikheil Saakashvili said during a meeting with Azeri-language residents in Marneuli city.

"Our main achievement is civil peace in Georgia. Our main achievement of recent years is that we no longer divide people by their ethnicity, religion, etc. Georgia was the biggest under King David the Builder, the main achievement of which was that everyone prayed in churches and mosques equally. Police to look into the legality of Gerard Depardieu’s visit to Georgia

The authorities will look into the details of the visit of French actor, Gerard Depardieu to Georgia, Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani has announced. She said the actor arrived in Georgia a day ago and departed briefly after having dinner at Puris Sakhli restaurant.

The visit of the French actor turned out in the focus of the media and law enforcers because he has violated Georgian law on travelling to Georgia’s occupied regions. Depardieu visited Georgia’s breakaway Abkhazia last year without the consent of the Georgian authorities.

Indian exhibition opens its doors in Tbilisi

This year, an Indian exhibition visited 6 big cities of Georgia starting on October 8. They visited Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Marneuli and Gori taking with them Indian clothing, jewelry, souvenirs, wooden furniture, various items for households, different types of candies and also care products.

This time organizers have new offers: they brought with them Indian tea and tucks. Here visitors can not only see and buy Indian goods, but also be the part of Indian national dance and song performances.

"Two times a year in April and October we visit Georgia and Armenia for selling our goods, which are cheap and high quality at the same time, but our goal is not only caring about business and earning money, we also want to introduce our culture to different nations and show what we have, what are we unique with," said Gulshan Dingla, one of the organizer of the exhibition.
