According to the head of the National Investment Agency, Giorgi Pertaia, investment in Georgia will be approximately the same amount as it was in 2012 when Georgia achieved over $900 million USD in investments. At the beginning of 2013, Georgia’s new government cheerfully promised that the country will attract around $2 billion USD in investments. However, it was an extremely optimistic declaration challenged by the reality of the economic climate in the country and globally. And the reality is that so far, Georgia has attracted around 500 million USD and unlikely it will exceed 1 billion. Georgia’s new President, Giorgi Margvelashvili, expressed his confidence that after the election, investors will appear in the country.
