Georgian food in Russian market
Friday, November 1
Georgian products are regaining lost ground in the Russian market after an absence of seven years. Among the first Georgian food items to appear again in Russia were apples. Citrus fruits are expected to reappear on the Russian market shortly. Georgia’s farmers are also planning to export pears and quince to Russia. Meanwhile, 27 Georgian wine companies are now on the Russian market, with more than 13 million bottles exported already. The number is expected to increase significantly around New Year's and Christmas. The average price of a bottle of Georgian wine in Russia is approximately $3.50.
