ICAO: Situation in Georgian Civil Aviation improved

The situation in the Georgian Civil Aviation has improved. This was said at the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development during a meeting on the results of a comprehensive audit of the country's civil aviation by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The Georgian side was represented at the meeting by the Georgia's Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Mikeladze, head of the Civil Aviation Agency, Guram Dzhalagoniya, as well as other representatives of the ministries and agencies.

In 2013, the ICAO audit was conducted from October 21 to October 29. Its purpose was to check the aviation system in Georgia.

It is noteworthy that ICAO's comprehensive audit in Georgia was last held in 2007.

ICAO experts presented the preliminary results of the inspection. Emphasis was placed upon the significant progress made by Georgia in recent years. Georgia will receive a final report of ICAO in early 2014, and on the basis of this report the country will continue to address identified problems.
