JTI and Eliz Group implement a Track & Trace system to better control tobacco products supply chain

Friday, November 8
Japan Tobacco International (JTI) and its distributor company, Eliz Group, have implemented a Track & Trace system in Georgia, which will enable both companies to better control tobacco products supply chain, from production to retail outlets.

“JTI and Eliz Group are the first companies selling tobacco products in Georgia to have implemented such system, and we are confident that this will further support government’s efforts to prevent tobacco contraband,” said Paul Holloway, General Manager at JTI Caucasus. “The system allows JTI to track movement of master cases and cartons, both to the initial and subsequent customers to whom they were sold. If required we can later trace the product back to a specific customer.”

The Track & Trace system also complies with requirements under the WHO FCTC Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products.

JTI, a member of the Japan Tobacco Group of Companies, is a leading international tobacco manufacturer. It markets world-renowned brands such as Camel, Winston and Mevius (Mild Seven).
