Investment urgently needed

The amount of foreign direct investment in Georgia has decreased the last two years. Economists think that the state should create a comfortable investment environment to encourage them to enter the country. The government should facilitate targeted sectors where investments should flow. New technologies including IT should be introduced, the country should switch to the modern way of production, and renovation should become regular. In this regard, the Ministry of Economy of Georgia has taken some serious steps. In particular, it declared pardoning of the penalties for certain companies who violated the investment agreement with the state. Special amnesty will be announced for those companies who did not deliberately violate this agreement.
Some economic analysts challenge such approach. They think that no additional benefits and advantage should be given to investors.
