Georgian Military Train ANSF

The Georgian military has actively engaged in the training of Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF). The personnel of the Batumi Separate Light Infantry Battalion Company “Lima” are training the soldiers of the 215th Corps of ANSF. The Georgian soldiers are carrying out preparation of the Afghan troops together with the Regional Corps Battle School (RCBS). Combat preparation is going on at the Afghan base of Shorabak. According to the training plan of RCBS, American, British and Georgian instructors are trainings the Afghan army in different military disciplines. During the two-month long obligatory courses, the Afghan soldiers are trained in combat skills for infantrymen, armament systems, communications, topography, logistics, shooting, and first aid. The top soldiers are selected during the advanced courses to become instructors in the future to prepare ANSF with their own resources. In addition, Georgian soldiers are insuring the security of the instructors and the military field hospital. RCBS has been operating since September 16, 2013. The negotiations on cooperation in the security field between the defense ministries of Georgia and Afghanistan was held in September.
