Russia not ready to switch to visa-free travel with Georgia
Thursday, December 19
Russia is currently not prepared to switch to visa-free travel with Georgia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during the Government Hour at the Federation Council.
“We support people-to-people contact, but we are not ready to move to a visa-free travel,” he said.
At the same time, Lavrov pointed out that Russia has already eased visa regulations with Georgia for visiting relatives and for youth and cultural exchanges.
Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt said on Twitter that the Russian emergency loans to Ukraine risks further delaying the urgent economic reforms and necessary EU modernization.
“The decline might continue,” he wrote on social media. (InterPressNews)
