Migration problem in Georgia

From data reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), it has become clear that 2 985 548 citizens of Georgia traveled from the country and 2 949 533 Georgian citizens entered the country. It means that 36 015 Georgian citizens did not return home. The same figure in 2012 was 21 656 people.
This comparison shows that this year’s figure is an all time high. In 2009-2011, more Georgian citizens entered the country than had left. According to the unofficial data, more that 1 million Georgians live abroad.
