Number of strikes increase in Georgia

During the UNM administration there were very few strikes organized by workers in Georgia. As a journalist from Resonansi newspaper suggests, in 2012 there were not more than 10 strikes all together in the country.

Under the Rose leadership, there were very few strikes, and the government was sometimes merciless against the people who did hold strikes. However, when the Georgia Dream administration came to office, it introduced a liberal approach towards the people on strike. Therefore, the number of strikes increased. In 2013 there were around 120 cases of strikes in the country. During the Rose administration there were seldom any results achieved because of strikes, whereas now most of the strikes are answered by the officials or business bosses.
