Iavnana celebrates 10th anniversary

The Iavnana Foundation celebrated its 10th birthday with its friends at Tbilisi State Concert Hall on March 3. Apart from the international stars, the special marathon was joined by Georgian expatriates and international organizations.
The gala concert, which started at 10 a.m., grew into a three-hour charity marathon involving Marcello Giordani, Katie Melua, Paata Burchuladze, Nikoloz Rachveli, the Georgian National Symphonic Orchestra, Nino Katamadze, Nani Bregvadze, Vakhtang Kikabidze, Eka Mamaladze, Teona Dvali, Nato Metonidze, Liza Bagrationi, Niaz Diasamidze, Giorgi Tsagareli, "Mgzavrebi", "Shvidkatsa", Sophie Nijaradze, the Blue Trio, Ia Shugliashvili, Mariko Ebralidze, Murman Jinoria, David Khrikuli, Liza Ramishvili, the Opera and Ballet Choir etc.
Heather Russell, a promising 12 year-old American singer and the author of 60 compositions, also arrived in Tbilisi. Designer Lako Bukia created a special Iavnana jubilee T-shirt with the Iavnana logo and citations from classic Georgian literature.
Over the last decade, the Iavnana Foundation has provided accommodation to 100 needy families. On Monday, 15 more families with many children received keys to their own houses. Moreover, Iavnana also paid the tuition fees for some distinguished students.
The celebration was aired by Rustavi 2.
The project was supported by the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection and Tbilisi City Hall together with the Wissol, Nikora, and Hiedelberg Cement. Rustavi2, Fortuna Radio, Media Palitra, and Beaomonde Magazine provided media support.
