Qatari enterprises seek to invest in Georgia

Some 20 Qatari companies headed by member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry are seeking to invest in Georgia, according to official sources in Tbilisi.
The representatives of the Chamber stated their intention of doing business in Georgia during a meeting with the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili and Ali al Misnadi, Chairman of Al Baida Group.
The Georgian PM expressed hope for close cooperation with the Qatari business sector and familiarized the guests with the existing business environment in Georgia.
Among the topics touched upon during the meeting was the investment possibilities in Georgia.
Gharibashvili pointed out that Georgia offers a wide choice for businesses looking to invest, particularly in such developing fields as hydro-energy, agriculture, tourism, logistics, real estate, and as a hub for regional services.
The Georgian premier drew special attention to the stable macroeconomic environment, liberal tax laws, and the central location of the country. (Trend)
