Georgian-British Chamber of Commerce office opens in Tbilisi

A representative office of the Georgian-British Chamber of Commerce opened in Tbilisi.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili met with British Minister of State for Europe David Lidington.

The sides discussed various issues in Georgian-British relations and paid special attention to the successes achieved by Georgia towards European integration.

Gharibashvili and Lidington appreciated the opening of a representative office of the Georgian- British Chamber of Commerce in Tbilisi on April 1 and expressed hope for further progress in the development of business relations between the two countries.

The signing of an association agreement with the EU was also discussed.

"Georgia's future is to join the Euro-Atlantic family," he said.

The parties also discussed the situation in the occupied territories. Gharibashvili thanked the guest for his support of Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Special attention was also paid to the cooperation in defense. It was stressed that the two countries have a memorandum of cooperation in this area. (Trend)
