NATO will help Georgia in the review and assessment of reserve and mobilization system transformation concept

NATO's National Reserve Forces Committee will assist the Georgian armed forces in the review and assessment of reserve and mobilization system transformation concept. The Georgian side made a report on the key aspects of the concept transformation of the armed forces reserve and mobilization system at the NATO's National Reserve Forces Committee Staff Officers assembly in France.

It was decided that committee member countries will provide expert assistance to the Georgian armed forces in development of project concept. U.S., Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark and Poland will present the concept assessment and recommendations at 2014 summer meeting. Also, Georgia’s initiative on holding the 2015 autumn committee in Tbilisi is under discussion.

Georgia became NATO's National Reserve Forces Committee Member as an observer on November 7, 2013. Together with Georgia observer member countries are: Australia, Sweden, Austria and South Korea.

NATO's National Reserve Forces Committee is directly supervised by NATO Military Committee and remains to be main coordinating structure in reserve issues.
