Azerbaijan to invest in IT technologies

Minister of Communication and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov stated that by 2020 the revenues from the high tech industry will be around 8 billion USD annually, making it around 10% of the country’s total GDP.

Currently the project of covering the whole country with fast internet connection is underway. This will enable Azerbaijan to compete with developed countries.

Today 70% of the Azeri population uses the Internet.
