Since June 2, 2006, the Ceyhan oil terminal on the Turkish Mediterranean coast was left by 2,535 tankers loaded by oil, running rough the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. Up to almost 2 billion barrels of oil were transported through this route. Since 2010, Turkmenistan oil has also been transported through the pipeline and there are negotiations with Kazakhstan for transporting their oil as well.
