Georgian Railway announces revenue for first half of year

The revenue of the Georgian Railway JSC amounted to 232.4 million lari for the first half of 2014. This figure exceeds the same period last year by 8.4 percent, the company told Trend.
The revenue from freight shipment grew 5.7 percent (9.4 million GEL) and amounted to 175.1 million which is due to a significant increase in revenue from dry cargo. In particular, the transportation of industrial raw materials, sugar, ferrous metals and scrap metal, chemicals and fertilizers have increased significantly.
The transportation of grain, cement, and construction materials also are distinguished with increasing dynamics.
Income from other cargo operations amounted to 49.6 million lari, which is 18.9 percent more than in 2012," the company noted. (trend.az)
