The planned capacity of SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP will be 50,000 cars a year, the company said Sept. 3 with reference to the head of the LLP Andrei Lavrentiev.
"After reaching the planned capacity, SaryarkaAvtoProm will produce 50,000 cars per year," Lavrentiev said.
He made this statement when Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited the new enterprise during his working trip to Kostanay region (northern Kazakhstan).
SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP is a new plant in Kazakhstan. It produces SsangYong Nomad and Toyota Fortuner cars via a CKD production method.
The car production via a CKD method was launched at the facilities of SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP in December 2013. Then, the production of the first Kazakh SUV SsangYong Nomad was launched as part of the teleconference with the president.
The plant found another partner, namely, Japanese company Toyota Motor Corporation in June 2014. As a result, Toyota Fortuner car production was launched.
The car production at the SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP is of great importance for the development of the domestic automotive industry, technology transfer and the creation of new jobs. The high-tech robotic equipment used in the production was purchased in leasing. The funds for the purchase of accessories were allocated through a credit line opened by JSC Development Bank of Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh government and Toyota Motor Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding in February 2013. The obligations of the Japanese side and the measures of state support of the Kazakh government were indicated there.
