Minister of Defence of Georgia visits Germany

The Minister of Defence of Georgia has left for an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany. Minister will visit the Georgian military unit at Wildflecken Military Base. The Company of IV Mechanized Brigade of GAF is going through pre-deployment preparation to engage in the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan. Mr. Irakli Alasania will take a view of the training base and observe the preparation process of the Georgian military. On the second day of the visit, Georgian Minister of Defence will meet his counterpart Federal Minister of Defence of Germany Dr. Ursula von der Leyen. The colleagues will discuss current military cooperation between Germany and Georgia and the future plans of partnership. At the end of the visit, Minister will arrive at Koerber Foundation and deliver speech on the topic “Regional Security Challenges and the Importance of NATO Wales Summit Decisions.” The representatives of German political circles, research and analytical centres will attend the event.
