Producer Price Index for Industrial Products in Georgia

In October 2014 the Producer Price Index (PPI) for Industrial Products decreased 0.4 percent compared to September 2014. The index increased 4.7 percent compared to October 2013 and 66.4 percent over 2005 average.
The monthly PPI rate was mainly due to the price change for the following section: Manufacturing prices decreased 0.5 percent and the section contributed -0.39 percentage points to the overall index change. The prices were substantially lower for manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (-1.6 percent).
The price change for the following section contributed the most to the rise in the annual PPI:
Manufacturing: the prices increased 5.7 percent. Consequently, the section contributed 4.72 percentage points to the overall index percent change. In the reporting period the prices increased for manufacture of food products, beverage and tobacco products (12.0 percent) and manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (3.6 percent); the prices were lower for manufacture of paper and publishing (-12.3 percent).
