Tbilisi to host global business forum in May
Monday, January 19
High-level delegations and almost 1,500 business representatives from more than 60 countries will visit Tbilisi this May for an international business conference.
Preparatory and technical works for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Annual Meeting and Business Forum, held on May 13-15, have been practically completed by the Georgian Government.
At today’s Government meeting, a state commission chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili discussed the activities implemented so far.
Most of the events within the annual meeting will be held at the Tbilisi building of the Georgian Parliament, while the opening ceremony will be hosted by Rustaveli Theater.
The Prime Minister of Georgia and EBRD president Sir Suma Chakrabarti will open the annual EBRD meeting.
"It will be an unprecedented event not only in our country but in the wider region as well as a number of high-ranking guests will visit Georgia. This is very important in terms of enhancing the country's visibility. We picked Tbilisi to introduce our shareholders to Georgia's culture and architecture, as well as the success achieved by this country," EBRD director for the Caucasus Bruno Balvanera said.
