Discussions on Defence Planning and Review Process

In the (28+1) NATO-Georgia Commission format, discussions regarding the fulfillment of the commitments undertaken by Georgia under the Defence Planning and Review Process (PARP) were hosted at NATO HQ.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Defence Levan Girsiashvili highlighted the progress achieved in various areas of MoD.
The representatives of NATO member countries positively evaluated Georgia’s ongoing defence reforms. They appreciated Georgia`s contribution to the international operation in Afghanistan and expressed readiness to support the country in implementing the substantial package granted to Georgia at the NATO Wales Summit.
Within the frames of the visit, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Defence met with the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai. The sides focused on the implementation of the NATO-Georgia substantial package.
