Number of money transfers decreased in 2014

Russia is the largest source of foreign money in Georgia, in direct transfers 49% of the total amount sent to Georgia origins from Russia

Money transferred from abroad to Georgia in 2014 decreased by 2.45% compared to previous year and amounted 1.44 billion USD. According to the National Bank of Georgia economic difficulties in Russia had a major impact and fewer amounts were transferred from Russia to Georgia. 709.23 million GEL was sent from Russia to Georgia, which is 11.5% less compared to the data of 2013.
