Police Say Over 6kg Cocaine Seized
Wednesday, January 28
The Georgian Interior Ministry said three citizens from Bulgaria were arrested while trying to smuggle 6.29 kilo cocaine, worth about USD 2.5 million, into Georgia from Armenia.
The three men, allegedly carrying cocaine in ten packs attached to their bodies, were arrested on January 24 at the Ninotsminda border-crossing point between Armenia and Georgia.
“This is unprecedented in Georgia, as no such amount of cocaine has ever been seized in Georgia,” said chief of the Georgian patrol police, Davit Tsinaridze, on January 27. (Civil.ge)
