Combined Company engaged in RS mission

The Combined Company of the 31 Light Infantry Battalion of 3rd Infantry Brigade of the Georgian Armed Forces has engaged in the Resolute Support (RS) mission officially. The Georgian military unit will launch fulfilling the tasks assigned under the mission at a full scale.
A solemn ceremony of transferring authority to the Combined Company was led at the RS-HQ in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The Senior Military Representative of Georgia to Afghanistan COL Mamuka Kavtaradze and the HQ leadership attended the event. The anthems of Georgia, the United States and North-Atlantic Alliance were performed. The Reinforced Company Commander Capt. Giorgi Jalagonia was transferred authority personally from the Commander of I Squadron of 1/82 Cavalry Regiment of Oregon state`s National Guard.
The Georgian military contingent will be serving in the RS mission for a 6 months period. The main task of the 31st Battalion Company will be providing security of RS-HQ based in Kabul.
