Legendary jazz musician Giuli Chokheli is back

Georgian jazz musician Giuli Chokheli received the special Art Guru award from the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia on March 28. The famous Georgian musician turned 80 on February of this year. At a concert dedicated to her birthday, young Georgian singers performed the music that made Chokheli the world star during Soviet times when jazz music was not popular among the communist leadership.
From now on, Chokheli’s star in front of the Concert Hall will pass her name from generation to generation. Performing two jazz compositions, the legendary musician shared her volcanic energy to her much beloved audience.
