SOCAR opens office in Georgia’s Batumi port city

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR opened its office in Batumi, Georgia, said the company in a message on May 18.

The building, built near the Batumi Port, will house the offices of SOCAR Energy Georgia, and its structures.

The construction of the four-story building, designed for 150 people, began in 2012. The building has work and technical rooms, a dining room for 24 people, a kitchen, administrative rooms and a conference hall.

The building’s architect is Rauf Khidirov. It was awarded the status of cultural heritage, and has a total area of 3,383.51 square meters.

During the opening of the building, which was attended by Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, it was noted that the opening of SOCAR’s new office is the latest example of the developing working cooperation and partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
