Tactical Exercise within “Noble Partner”

Within the joint US-Georgia Exercise “Noble Partner”, battalion level tactical training was held on the Vaziani airfield. Up to 300 Georgian and U.S. military participated in it. Commander of 173rd Airborne Brigade, Colonel Michael Foster, observed the tactical exercise.
According to the imitated scenario, the rival side occupied the settled area and airport. The Georgian and U.S. military carried out a combined attack over the settled area and released the territory and airport from the rival. After fulfilling the mission, the Georgian and U.S. military strengthened positions in the area of operation. U.S. infantry combined vehicles “Bradley” and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles participated in the exercise as well.
Noble Partner is being carried out in Georgia for the first time and is aimed at increasing the interoperability of the Georgian military with the U.S. units for participation in the NATO Response Force (NRF). The military exercise provides an excellent opportunity to enhance the Georgian Armed Forces` capability to contribute to NRF and to deepen military cooperation between the countries.
The joint exercise started on May 11 and will officially be closed on May 24. Approximately, 600 Georgian and U.S. military personnel are participating in the Noble Partner. The Georgian side is represented by “Alpha” Company of 12th Battalion of I Infantry Brigade, I Mechanized Company of 42nd Battalion of IV Mechanized Brigade and Military Police Platoon.
