Free Democrats believe those detained in the so-called Cables Case will soon be released
Members of the Free Democrats party believe that those detained in the so-called Cables Case will be released very soon, declared Irakli Chikovani, a party member.
Reporters expressed interest in general auditor Lasha Tordia’s statement, according to which, the State Audit Service has found violations in the tender that apparently sparked the Cables Case.
“I don’t know what Mr. Tordia said, but I am aware of Tbilisi City Court’s decision. According to the court, what was presented as incriminating evidence is unacceptable in this capacity. That’s why we are waiting for future court sessions and believe that the officials detained on the so-called Cables Case will be released very soon,”- Irakli Chikovani remarked.
As general auditor Lasha Tordia has declared, the State Audit Service did find violations in the aforementioned tender and the case was subsequently sent to the Prosecutor’s Office.
The so-called Cable Case concerned a cable system purchase from the Silknet Company during the time when Irakli Alasania was the defense minister, and five former officials of the ministry were detained and were charged for misspending budgetary funds. The former minister claims that his employees were innocent, and that there were violations in the case.

Barcelona and Sevilla set for Tbilisi Super Cup
FC Barcelona and Sevilla FC are coming to Georgia to compete in the second straight all-Spanish UEFA Super Cup.
The match will take place at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi on Tuesday, August 11.
Thanks to their UEFA Champions League final win against Juventus in Berlin yesterday, Barcelona will increase their record number of UEFA Super Cup appearances to nine.
Sevilla are in contention as UEFA Europa League winners for the second season running following their Warsaw success against FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.
Whatever happens on 11 August, Spain will extend their lead as the most titled UEFA Super Cup nation, the UEFA website said.
The UEFA Super Cup is an annual sporting challenge between the reigning champions of the two main European club competitions – the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
President of the Georgian Football Federation, Domenti Sichinava, said tickets would be affordable and would cost ˆ7, ˆ15 or ˆ30 (16 GEL, 35 GEL or 69 GEL respectively), depending on which area of the stadium spectators wished to sit.
Tickets will be sold on the official UEFA website from July 2015. About 40,000 tickets will be open to Georgian fans while the remaining (about 15,000) will go to UEFA officials and fans of participating teams.
The first UEFA Super Cup was officially recognized and held in 1973. Since 1998 the match was traditionally held at the Louis II Stadium in Monaco, however from 2013 it was decided the event would be held in different venues.
In 2013 Prague hosted the game at Eden Stadium and in 2014 the match was played in Cardiff, UK.

United National Movement protests against increase of supplementary allowance
The members of Untied National Movement protest against increase of the supplementary allowance at the Mayor"s Office. According to UNM member the "Entrepreneurship Fund" and high officials from the animal monitoring center and a youth center will receive one Million GEL.
The supplementary allowance has also raised in other five subordinate organization.

Changes may be implemented in Parliament and government –Parliament Speaker
“There may be certain changes in the Parliament and the government, but those dreaming of the coalition’s collapse will be disappointed,” said Parliamentary Speaker Davit Usupashvili in an interview with the Kviris Palitra newspaper.
“I cannot see preconditions for serious changes; this is nothing more than political speculation, but those dreaming of the coalition’s collapse will be disappointed. There may be several changes in both the Parliament and the government… By that, I mean usual political issues that do not imply big coalitional changes,” Usupashvili said.
