Remembering the heroes

In memory of Georgian soldiers and policemen killed whilst protecting Georgia’s territorial integrity and independence during the war with Russia in August 2008, America’s Georgian Friends Club took a Georgian flag to the Mkinvartzveri (Kazbeg) Mountain on August 7, 2015.
The flag had the names of the fallen stitched into it. President of America’s Georgian Friends Club Ilia Zukakishvili and Vice-president of Mountain climbers Georgian federation Mirza Liparteliani led the sportsmen to the top. The event was blessed by Patriarch of all Georgians Ilia II and the flag was later put in the brothers’ cemetery in Tbilisi.
