Azerbaijani, Georgian customs services agree on information exchange

The Azerbaijani and Georgian customs services signed a document in the field of technical support for an information exchange system, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said August 25.

The representatives of the Azerbaijani and Georgian customs services met in Tbilisi August 24, the statement said.

During the meeting, the participants highly appreciated the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries in the spheres of economy, politics and culture.

Moreover, it was stressed that the customs bodies have important tasks in the sphere of economic relations.

The importance of expanding the mutual cooperation between the relevant agencies of the two countries and the benefit of sharing experience were stressed.

Then, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee and the Revenue Service of the Georgian Ministry of Finance signed a document in the field of technical support for the information exchange system.

The document was signed by Igbal Babayev, the head of the main department of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee and Givi Murvanidze, the deputy chairman of the Information Technology Center of the Revenue Service of the Georgian Finance Ministry.

The purpose of the document, signed in accordance with the Agreement on Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters between the governments of Azerbaijan and Georgia, is to contribute to the facilitation of trade between the two countries, as well as to exchange the preliminary information about goods and vehicles.
