Georgia’s popular eastern mountainous ski resort, Gudauri, might see new life in the near future as an agreement has been signed between the Georgian company responsible for the resort and a leading Canadian development company to make the area even more attractive for visitors.
Georgia’s Mountain Resorts Development Company, which manages and develops Georgia's two famous ski resorts of Gudauri and Didveli, signed an agreement with the Canadian Ecosign Mountain Resort Planners company concerning an elaboration of a master plan for the Georgian resort.
The agreement was signed in South Korea within the second conference of European and Asian Ski Resorts.
Ecosign, which has already created tens of such plans worldwide, will be responsible for developing a plan that will specify the area’s infrastructural development.
The overall concept of the plan for the resort is centred on balancing the resort’s potential capacity.
This should be a balanced figure which reflected the goals of the plan, the mountain’s skier carrying capacity, the capacity of the base area and the market potential of the resort, Ecosign’s webpage announced.
The plan will specify the locations of a new cableways, as well as additional ski tracks, parking zones, hotels, food and entertainment facilities in the Gudauri resort.
The Canadian company is comprised of two major planning and design studios including a Mountain Planning division and the Base Area/Village Planning and Design department. These departments work in tandem to create integrated, comprehensive and complete mountain resorts and resort village plans.
