Georgia-UN sign partnership agreement

Georgia and the United Nations (UN) have signed a partnership document.
The Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili, and UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia Niels Scott signed the UN Partnership for Sustainable Development (UNPSD), which highlighted the strategic directions of the UN activities in the five year period (2016-2020).
The major directions of cooperation concerned democratic governance, jobs, livelihood and social protection, education, health, and human security and community resilience.
The signing ceremony coincided with the UN celebration of its 70th anniversary on November 20.
Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili thanked the UN representation for their continual support to Georgia and stressed that to be a member of UN was a benefit and an honour for Georgia.
Garibashvili stated that Georgia and the UN share many common values.
