Produce in Georgia: Two new agricultural enterprises will open in Georgia

Monday,
Two new fruit and vegetable processing factories are opening within the ‘Produce in Georgia’ state programme, which supports the development of industry in Georgia.

At a Governmental meeting, Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili revealed work had begun to build the two new enterprises that would bring great returns for the country.

He revealed that about 800,000 GEL will be invested to create two new fruit and vegetable processing factories in Martkopi Village.

About 60 people will be employed in the two factories, said Garibashvili.

Last month the Georgian Government approved the three project ideas within the ‘Produce in Georgia’ state program.

The new businesses – a meat and dairy cattle farm, a drinking water factory and a matches factory – will receive funds from the ‘Produce in Georgia’ scheme as they will contribute to the local production market and contribute to the growing economy.

As of today, the programme has financed the cost of establishing 123 new local businesses. Since the program launched in May 2014 the state has invested 340 million GEL in interesting projects that would produce benefits for Georgia.
