New apartments for 288 IDP families in Zugdidi

The Government of Georgia has begun building four blocks of apartments in Georgia’s western Zugdidi municipality to solve the housing crisis facing Georgia’s Internally Displaced People (IDPs) living in the region.

Georgia’s Ministry of Internally Displaced People, Accommodation and Refugees Sozar Subari announced 288 internally displaced families would live in the new apartments when completed.

The Ministry said the Government planned to build a total of 26 blocks of flats in Zugdidi for the IDP families, and this would ease the ongoing housing problem facing these vulnerable citizens.

Construction of the four apartment blocks is being carried out by the Dagi construction firm. The company has completed more than 300 projects and employs over 600 people. (agenda.ge)
