Georgia’s European Way

Georgia’s State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Davit Bakradze, has stated that Batumi is ready to host dozens of foreign delegates at the 13th international conference dedicated to Georgia’s European way and regional challenges.
The Minister stressed that Georgia’s high-ranking officials and delegates from partner and European Union (EU) nations would gather in Batumi on July 14-15, at the Batumi Hilton Hotel, to discuss a range of Georgia-EU and regional issues.
In particular, the main topics of this year’s Batumi International Conference will include:
Georgia – EU relations;
A discussion about the European Neighbourhood Policy, its future, the lessons learned and key challenges, especially in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Policy sphere;
Implementation of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), as well as Georgia-EU visa liberalisation issue;
The conference will also address the geopolitical situation in the region, along with modern security challenges and opportunities;
The topics of strategic communication and cooperation with civil society will also be given high importance during the discussions;
The International Conference has been organised by the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration since 2007. This year's partner of the event is GLOBSEC, a Slovak think-tank focused on domestic and international security.
Commissioner for the European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, Deputy Director-General in Charge of Directorate (Neighbourhood East) Katarina Mathernova , EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Crisis in Georgia Herbert Salber, Chair of the European Union Harmonisation Committee Yasar Yakis , Chairman of the European Union Affairs Committee Kalle Palling, Second President of the National Council of the Parliament of the Republic of Austria Karlheinz Kopf and many other senior figures will be among the participants of the conference.
