Polls say Georgian Dream elections favorite

Public polls conducted by Georgian media outlets Imedi TV and JPM Strategic Solutionssay a majority of questioned voters support the current ruling Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia (GDDG) party.
The survey reported that 51% of respondents believed that the GDDG party would win the upcoming October 8 parliamentary race, while 10% revealed their support for the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party, which ruled Georgia between 2003-2012.
The public polls outlined that only these two parties managed to overcome the 5 percent threshold, as other parties appeared beyond the necessary votes.
In particular, the survey said the Free Democrats and the Labour Party received 4% each from the respondents.
Thirty-one percent of the surveyed people haven’t yet decided whom to vote for.
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, received a favorable rating of 38% and a 23% unfavorable rating.
The number one in the UNM’s election list, Davit Bakradze scored a 30% favorable rating, while 38% expressing a negative view.
The chairperson of the opposition Democratic Movement – United Georgia, Nino Burjanadze obtained the most negative rating. She was disliked by 58% and favored by 13%.
The majority of the questioned individuals believed unemployment to be the biggest problem the country is facing, at 82 percent.
Poverty, inflation and price increases were also listed as major problems.
Imedi TV announced 1,200 respondents were interviewed face-to-face.
The survey was conductedbetween August 18-27. The error index of the research is 2.8%.
