Russia, US, Greece – Georgia’s top donor countries in October

Georgia is receiving more money from abroad and mostly from its three major donor countries – Russia, the United States (US), and Greece.
Last month, Russia transferred $34.6 million to Georgia, which was 33.8 percent of all money transfers made to Georgia in October.
Georgia's second largest donor was the US with $11.6 million in money transfers, followed by Greece, who transferred $11.3 million.
Overall Georgia received $102.5 million from abroad in October 2016. This was 14 percent more year-on-year (y/y), said the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The Bank said the vast majority (91.9 percent) of all money transfers from abroad came from 13 major donors.
Meanwhile after Russia, the US and Greece, Georgia's other big donor countries in October 2016 were:
Italy - $10.2 million
Turkey - $8.7 million
Israel - $5.6 million
Spain - $2.6 million
Germany - $2.5 million
Ukraine - $2 million
United Kingdom - $1.5 million
Azerbaijan - $1.2 million
France - $1.1 million
Kazakhstan - $1.1 million
Last month, $17.8 million was transferred out of Georgia. This was higher than the $15.1 million transferred out in October 2015, said NBG. (Agenda.ge)
