Georgian companies may be able to participate in tenders in Afghanistan

Thursday, February 23
Georgian companies could be given the right to participate in tenders in Afghanistan.

This was announced today at a Government Meeting wherein Georgia’s Prime Minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, talked about new opportunities between Georgia and Afghanistan.

The PM said he discussed the possibility of opening "different types of opportunities” with Afghanistan with the country’s president Ashraf Ghani.

“We had a very interesting meeting with the Afghan President, and I have to say that many different types of opportunities are being opened with Afghanistan in the areas of transport, logistics and economic relations,” said Kvirikashvili.

“Also, we had the opportunity to speak about the possibility of Georgian companies’ taking part in public procurement in Afghanistan. The President expressed readiness to consider such proposals,” he added.

The meeting between Kvirikashvili and Ghani was held within the framework of the Munich Security Conference. (Agenda.ge)
