Possible changes for cars working on gas

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has released a statement in which it addresses citizens with vehicles running on gas.

“Due to the high interest from the public, the Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to clarify information spread by media sources claiming that legislative changes have been made in connection with vehicles running on gas.

“The information alleging that from July 1 inspection of such vehicles will become tough is a complete falsehood,” the Ministry stated.

The Ministry announced that no legislative amendment had been made to the Code of Administrative Offences, which regulated this issue.

Also, it should be pointed out that the previous approach of the Patrol Police has not changed in relation the vehicles powered by natural gas.

“As the technical inspection system has not been activated yet, standards will not be established in this field, drivers of vehicles working on natural gas will benefit from the same legal regime as it was before July 1 2017, and their driving scores [the new model for traffic violations] will not be affected,” the Ministry stated.

The police added that exceptions can be made for drivers whose vehicles are subject to compulsory technical care.

“Accordingly, they will be subject of examination and will be involved in the score system,” says the statement.

It is one of the examples why the technical checking of cars is of the utmost importance.

Many of cars, even those which are new but work on gas, can be prone to malfunction and damage the environment.

An individual who worked for one of the companies which imports and sells gas devices for cars said that in many cases, the cars are either of low quality or they were used differently in the country from which they were imported.

Only a small amount of the gas devices are reliable, he claimed.
