Four new hydro power plants to be built in Georgia, worth $239m

Georgia’s Ministry of Energy has announced the Expression of Interest on the technical and economic feasibility study, construction, ownership and operation of four hydro power plants (HPP) worth of over $239 million.
These HPPs are:
• Abuli HPP - on the river of Paravani in Georgia’s Samtskhe-Javakheti region
• Mtkvari Cascade 4 HPP – on the river of Mtkvari in Georgia’s Kvemo Kartli region
• Digomi HPP - on the river of Mtkvari in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi
• Kokhi HPP - on the river of Kintrishi in Georgia’s Adjara Region
The interested parties should submit applications for all four project development in accordance to the terms and conditions of the Expression of Interest to the Ministry of Energy of Georgia no later than 18:00 on September 8, 2017.
In total, $239,347,000 will be spent on building four new HPPs in Georgia.
