President of Georgia takes part in economic forum in Poland

This year, an annual International Economic Forum, organized in the beginning of September, will bring together more than 3,500 guests in Poland. Political, economic and social leaders, approx. 500 journalists and other guests will attend the forum from over 60 countries in Europe, Asia and America.
The President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili, will take part in the 27th International Economic Forum, which will be held in the Polish city of Krynica-Zdroj.
The forum opened on September 5 and will last until September 7.
The Economic Forum, by its concept, is open to various ways of thinking about the state and economy. In Krynica, people come together not only to present their offers and seek opportunities for cooperation, but also to participate in the first class debates of business theorists and practitioners.
The Economic Forum holds six plenary sessions and over 180 discussion panels, presentations and lectures ran in a number of thematic groups, including: macro economy, European Union and its neighbors, international politics, and energy forum.
President Margvelashvili took part in debates and his speech was mainly focused on Georgia-EU relations. The President of Georgia highlighted the results of the Association Agreement and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) with the EU. He talked about the necessity of continuation of NATO's open door policy and the importance of NATO Summit 2018 for Georgia.
“Poland strongly supports Georgia's European integration process and it is very important for Georgia to share the experience of Baltic countries for the European integration,” said Margvelashvili.
Within the framework of the forum Giorgi Margvelashvili met with the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
The Polish Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, representatives of the European Investment Bank in Slovakia and the regional branch of the World Bank in India have also attended the Forum.
The forum is organized by the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies, Economic Forum Program Council, and Partners of the Economic Forum. The province of Malopolska is a partner of the event.
