Azeri Diplomats Heap Praise on Southern Gas Corridor
Thursday, November 30
(BAKU) – Azeri diplomats took time Tuesday to champion the new multi-billion-euro Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) that will link energy fields in Central Asia with the EU.
“The SGC is an example of multilateral cooperation in the Eastern Partnership,” officials in Baku said in a statement released earlier this week.
The SGC is part of a broader plan to further strengthen the economic ties of Europe’s Eastern Partnership members – including Azerbaijan and Georgia – with EU member states.
Azerbaijan currently supplies currently 5% of the EU’s gas demand. News.Az
