Ski Season officially Open in Georgia

This December, Ski season in Georgia’s Gudauri and Goderdzi winter resorts has officially opened.
On December 10, the official opening of Gudauri ski resort took place with the support of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mountain Resorts Development Company and National Tourism Administration.
Gudauri has a 70 km-long ski route designed for all categories of skiing.
Another winter sports zone Didveli ski area was officially opened in Bakuriani this month. High-tech colored lights, so-called "Led Lights" will give an opportunity to night-skiing and the mountain patrols will oversee the road safety.
Goderdzi ski resort, located in Adjara region, offers two cable lines to its guests and the total length of tracks amounts to 8 kilometers. The ski season in Adjara region was opened on December 10 as in the rest of Georgia. The opening ceremony was attended by head of the government of Adjara Zurab Pataridze, Minister of Finances and Economy of Adjara Ramaz Bolkvadze and head of Mountain Resorts Development Company Sandro Onoprishvili.
It was announced that by the end of December, the helicopter connection will be established between Batumi and Goderdzi. The air traffic will operate until the end of the winter holiday season.
It is anticipated that Georgia’s ski resorts will attract tourists. According to the data of January-October 2017, international travel payments made by foreign citizens amounted to GEL 1,799,989, which is + 33.2% increase compared to the same period last year.
